I made it in time! My Halloween drawing for this year, and I actually bothered with a background too! I really like how it came out. Too bad I made the image this small though.

If my boyfriend and I had only lived in the USA, this is what I imagine the two of us trick or treating would look like.

God why don't we celebrate Halloween in The Netherlands :'(

Hey there, long time no see! The noisy gradient is just painted on with a custom brush really, if you like I'll send it to you. You just play around with the settings until it gives the desired effect. I'm glad you like it!

hehe yeah time we don't see :) yes please send it to me, i'm making an ilustration in Illustrator (redundance) and well i'm trying to give a new quality of shadow and divition lines, i wish i can show you, it's a style like... old cartoons (kinda); but anyway is this brush for Illustrator? i saw also the option to do it in Art Effects, you know filters. Dank je :)

I'm afraid it's not an Illustrator brush, I do all my work in Photoshop because I'm not too fond of the smoothness that vector gives, even though most of my drawings would be perfectly fitting for that. This particular one was definitely Photoshop, since in Illustrator you don't really have enough control over textures, filters and gradients if you ask me, and I'm not too good at it either haha :meow: So I just handpainted it.

I love old cartoons so if you could mail me an example it would be easier to understand (will send it to you in a note). I'd send you the brush but I don't have your email >.<

Yeah i was doubting about use Ai or Psd, because it's a little more difficult to me to orientate when i draw with the Pen in Psd and also in the borders it gets a little blur that you can see more when you change the color of the element, about the rest yeah, it's true i don't have much control so sometimes appears a little cold the drawing. You're saying you handpaint? i always thought that i can paint my own textures and later scan it to put on my drawing, i've never tried it yet.

Old cartoons are a little like... synthesized style, like this ones: [link] [link] Do you know the old cartoons as beatles? well like that, a mix of mark ryden with that, it's not my defined style becasue i do manye styles. Well yes, idiot of me i didn't sent you my email yesterday hehe :$ well i've sent you a note, thanks a lot again!
